Combining leadership training, civic education, Jewish ethical learning, cross-community engagement, and mentorship from senior community leaders, the year-long Trailblazer Fellowship cultivates a cohort equipped to influence public discourse and institutions over the coming decades.
WHAT THE RETREAT OFFERS
The program blends personal reflection, skill-building and mentorship. Participants will:
-
Build on understanding of self (values, strengths and lived experiences)
Understand how this can be channelled for impact. -
Turn passion into action
Develop a clear goal or project, with practical steps to bring it to life. -
Learn in community
Be part of an empowering and supportive cohort of young Jewish people, building relationships that continue beyond the program. -
Think long-term
Reflect on the bigger picture: what kind of change matters most.
WHO IT’S FOR
This fellowship is designed for young Jewish adults (18-30) who are:
- Motivated by social action, justice or community impact
- Interested in leadership, education or creating change in Jewish and broader society
- Seeking connection with peers who share values and a sense of responsibility
- Committed to long-term community work
The Program
Leadership Development Workshops
Intensive sessions develop practical leadership skills - public speaking, negotiation, coalition-building, and strategic thinking.
Jewish Ethical Learning
Fellows draw on Jewish thought and tradition to ground civic leadership in values, exploring the responsibilities that come with visibility, leadership, and community representation.
Senior Mentorship
Each fellow is matched with a leader from Australian public life (politics, business, community, etc.) for sustained one-on-one mentorship throughout the program.
BEYOND THE FELLOWSHIP
The cohort doesn’t disappear at the end of the year.
Participants will be invited into an ongoing alumni network, with opportunities to stay connected, continue developing their ideas, and contribute to a wider ecosystem of young Jewish leadership.
