Common Ground - Launching 2027

Bringing together emerging leaders from Jewish and diverse communities for immersive retreats focused on civic participation, dialogue across difference, and collaborative leadership.

Participants from Jewish and multicultural communities engage in shared learning designed to strengthen democratic literacy and develop practical civic leadership skills. Together, this growing national network assumes shared responsibility for the future of civil society in Australia.

The Program

Each retreat will bring together 20-30 emerging leaders, away from the pressures of campus life, creating the conditions for genuine connection across lines of difference.

The leaders of the next 40 years are on campuses right now.

Common Ground brings them together - Jewish student leaders alongside peers from faith-based, culturally diverse, and First Nations communities.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

Intensive sessions develop practical leadership skills - public speaking, negotiation, coalition-building, and strategic thinking.

CROSS-COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Build authentic relationships with leaders from other communities, developing the networks and understanding needed to operate effectively in Australia's multicultural landscape.

In Partnership with AUJS

AUJS brings deep campus presence and student trust at every major Australian university, providing participant recruitment infrastructure and student leadership pipelines that no other organisation can match.

Get Involved

We welcome partner organisations who can nominate participants, provide sponsorship, collaborate on recruitment, or support alumni initiatives.

Australia's insularity crisis will not be solved by institutions working in silos - nor will antisemitism be countered by awareness campaigns alone.
Both require organisations willing to work across difference and invest in the next generation.
