Building Leadership for a Shared Future
A Generation Ready to Stand Up

Many of us feel it acutely: a deep commitment to justice, and an equally deep commitment to our cultural identity and community, and not enough spaces where both can live together.

Stand Up exists for exactly this moment.

We are building a generation of leaders grounded in Jewish values, confident in who they are, and ready to do the hard, serious work of building relationships that last and change that sticks. This is not simply aspirational. This is a growing movement - and we are raising the bar for what activated leadership and genuine allyship can achieve.

Through rigorous leadership development and deep partnerships across communities, Stand Up is helping shape a fairer and more connected Australia.

What we do

Our work focuses on two core pillars.

Activating Emerging Leaders

We invest seriously in young adults who are proud of their identity and ready to lead from the front.

Through fellowships, retreats, immersive learning and leadership training, participants build the confidence, skills and networks to step forward as leaders - strengthening the Jewish community and representing it with purpose in the wider world.

We are scaling this work because the need for it is urgent.

Allyship in Action

We build authentic, sustained relationships across communities to strengthen social cohesion and address systemic inequity.

Mutual allyship is built through long-term relationship building and grounded in shared responsibility for a just and equitable Australian society.

Our evidence-based approach centres on the importance of shared problem-solving to address the issues that impact all of us through means that are equitable and fair.

Program Feature: Break Bread

Sharing a meal opens a window to connection. It's a powerful way to hear someone's story and celebrate our differences. Consider who in your network might want to experience Jewish culture or share their own—it can be as simple as setting extra places at your Shabbat or chag (festival) table.

Join Stand Up’s Break Bread initiative to share culture, celebrate diversity, and discover what bonds us. We provide a host guide and resources to support you along the way.
