The Tikkun Giving Circle is designed to engage students in meaningful, hands-on philanthropy. Over a four-month period, participants will take part in four 2-3 hour facilitated sessions where they will explore Jewish values, raise funds, and collaborate to choose impactful First Nations projects to support.
Dates: Sessions run on the following Sundays:
- 6 September
- 18 October
- 8 November
- 29 November
Time: 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm
Location: Each session will be at a different location, including:
- Berry Island
- Glebe
- Castlecrag
Program overview:
- First Nations Excursion (Berry Island)
- Site visit to an Indigenous organisation (e.g. Tranby College)
- Cultural experience (e.g. Aboriginal cooking or smoking ceremony)
- Exploration of Jewish values and philanthropy
- Group decision-making on funding priorities
- Independent fundraising between sessions
- Final allocation of funds to Indigenous-led projects based on group values
