ABOUT THE FILM

In 1965, trailblazing Aboriginal activist Charles Perkins led a group of university students on a journey that drew national attention to racial segregation and discrimination in regional New South Wales. This defining moment in Australian history became known as the Freedom Ride. 

Sixty years later, this film honours a new generation of shared histories, resilience and allyship between Jewish and First Nations Australians. Travelling from Boggabilla to Moree, Walgett, Dubbo and Sydney, the group visited key sites of protest and heard first-hand accounts from those who witnessed the original Ride.

Spanning two eras of polarisation, the film explores allyship as an ongoing process forged through connection, trust and shared experience.
