For over 20 years, Stand Up has built a deep, trusted partnership with the First Nations communities of Toomelah and Boggabilla. Through our flagship program, Derech Eretz, young Jewish adults spend 10 days in community twice a year, engaging in meaningful cultural exchange, supporting school-holiday activities, and strengthening long-standing relationships grounded in respect and allyship.
This experience has not only enriched the lives of First Nations children, families, and Elders, it has also profoundly impacted the Jewish participants. Most describe Derech Eretz as life-changing, opening their eyes to Indigenous history and justice, strengthening their Jewish values, and inspiring them to pursue careers in education, community work, social justice, policy, and advocacy.
Your donation helps sustain this unique, multigenerational connection, supporting community-led initiatives, youth activities, and genuine cross-cultural engagement that enriches both communities.
Together, we continue a legacy of learning, friendship, and solidarity.
