Alumni Building the Next 20 Years
Twenty Years of Walking Together
For two decades, Derech Eretz has been more than a program. It's been a living journey of connection, one that began with a simple belief: that genuine, respectful relationships between Jewish and First Nations communities could build something enduring and deeply human.
Since that first trip to Toomelah and Boggabilla in 2005, more than 250 alumni have carried that belief forward: sitting with Elders, sharing stories, laughing with kids, and walking side by side in friendship and learning.
You know what Derech Eretz has given you. You've felt its impact. You've lived the transformation that happens when two worlds meet with open hearts and mutual respect. Now, as we celebrate 20 years of this work, we're asking our alumni community to take the next step in that journey.
The Next Chapter: Growing Together
We're inviting alumni to stay connected and grow Derech Eretz together. This isn't just about funding the annual trip—it's about all of us contributing in the ways that feel right, using our time, talent, treasure, ties, and testimony to deepen the program and First Nations impact, while staying connected to the community that shaped us.
💰
Treasure
Annual financial contributions that sustain the program's core costs and create stability for long-term planning
⏰
Time
Volunteering to support trip logistics and maintain community relationships throughout the year
✨
Talent
Sharing your professional skills and expertise to strengthen the program and support First Nations communities
🤝
Ties
Leveraging your network to create opportunities, open doors, and amplify First Nations voices and impact
📣
Testimony
Sharing your story and voice to help others understand the transformative power of Derech Eretz
We're working through what this looks like together: mentorship, skills-sharing, creating connections, and staying engaged with each other and the communities we've walked alongside. The foundation starts with all of us making a token yet meaningful commitment to keep this work alive and keep our community connected.
The Simple Math
To sustain Derech Eretz, covering travel, resources, community engagement, and leadership support we need to raise $15,000 annually. Here's the beautiful truth:
If half our alumni give $100 each year...
150 alumni × $100 = $15,000
That's less than two coffees per month.
Less than $2 per week.
A token amount with monumental impact.
We're not asking for much, because we know the value isn't in the dollar amount: it's in staying connected. It's in 150 alumni saying together: "This matters. We're in this together. Let's build the next 20 years as a community."
