School Programs

Stand Up’s education programs aim to broaden the Jewish community’s understanding and awareness of Aboriginal culture, history and contemporary political issues.

Stand Up’s innovative informal educators work in a number of Jewish schools running Aboriginal education workshops. Programs are specifically tailored and adapted to suit each school’s curriculum. We currently work in Moriah College, The Emmanuel School, The King David School and Mount Scopus Memorial College.

Our flagship program, Yorta Yorta Beyachad, is with run for Year 9 students from Mount Scopus College. It includes educational workshops, culminating in an immersive 4-day trip exploring the historic landmarks of the Yorta Yorta community, and a private meeting with the descendants of local hero, William Cooper.
