Alma Zygier is bewitching and idiosyncratic. The Melbourne-born jazz and blues performer brings grit and grime to her songwriting and vocals. Playful and peculiar, Alma portrays her power and fragility simultaneously at every turn bringing emotional maturity to her performance that belies her years.
Danny Almagor OAM is co-founder (with his wife Berry Liberman) and the Executive Chair of Small Giants, a family office, and Australia’s first B-Corporation, dedicated to creating social and environmental change through business, education and storytelling. Danny played an instrumental role in the growth and evolution of Stand Up into the organisation it is today, having served as Chair of the Board from 2005 to 2019.
He is a genuine leader in the Impact space having been involved in the creation of over a dozen for profit and non-profit organisations including Engineers Without Borders Australia, The Sociable Weaver Group, and Impact Club. He also founded and Chairs the Impact Investment Group, was the driver behind the creation of Sentient Impact Group, and in 2020, amidst the global pandemic, transitioned Small Giants’ existing education, storytelling and media efforts into a dedicated not-for-profit accelerator, education, and media initiative called Small Giants Academy. Danny has been recognised through many awards including a Churchill Fellowship, the Hal Taussig B Corp award and the Medal of the Order of Australia.
Marcus Stewart is one of Australia’s most renowned and trusted Indigenous leaders. He is a respected adviser to Fortune 500, NASDAQ and ASX top 20 companies. As the inaugural Co-Chair of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Marcus led nation first reform with the establishment of the Yoorrook Justice Commission, the first truth telling process in Australia with the strength and power of a royal commission. In this role, Marcus became a trusted partner of the Government, setting up the design and infrastructure for Australia’s first Treaty, while also not shying away from holding Government to account through the media.
Marcus is a friend of the Jewish community and a close ally of Stand Up. Of particular note, he was an esteemed advisor and guest speaker for our Kol Halev campaign on The Voice to Parliament last year.
Courtney Winter-Peters is Stand Up's CEO with a passion for social justice and the Jewish community. A former lawyer with experience in Senior Leadership roles in the community legal sector, Courtney is committed to advocating for systemic change and empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged people. After volunteering with a number of Jewish organisations, Courtney undertook the role at Stand Up which aligns her personal and professional skills and interests.
Dalit Kaplan is an experienced presenter and conversation host. She is also a writer, storytelling trainer, investor and a lapsed lawyer. Dalit works in impact investing and grant making as a director of Just World Investments and she provides storytelling workshops and coaching through her business, Storywell. She is also the co-founder of a new inclusive Beit Midrash, Beit Midrash Oz, and is passionate about creating safe and welcoming spaces for people to engage with Jewish tradition with their whole self. She has a BA/LLB (Hons Melbourne Uni), and an LLM (Chicago). She has two young children and is always tired.
