When humanitarian disasters strike, Stand Up proudly mobilises the Jewish community to respond to the immense suffering. Our appeal efforts are generously supported by Jewish communities across Australia.

Recent appeals include

 

EBOLA APPEAL 2014:

$20 000 raised and donated to CARE Australia to support those suffering from Ebola in West Africa.

 

TYPHOON HAIYAN:

$100,000 raised and donated to CARE Australia to support victims of the horrific Typhoon that ripped through the Philippines in 2013.

 

NSW BUSHFIRES:

$38,000 raised for victims of the Bushfires in NSW 2013.

 

AUSTRALIA FLOODS:

$140,000 raised for the 2010 Australian floods. $100 000 donated to the Queensland Premier’s Appeal and $40,000 doanted to assist in recovery efforts in Toomelah and Boggabilla.

 

HAITI EARTHQUAKE:

$140,000 raised in two weeks and donated to CARE Australia after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. CARE’s immediate response reached more than 300,000 earthquake survivors with items such as emergency shelter materials, hygiene kits, newborn kits, food and safe water.

 

VICTORIAN BUSHFIRES:

$450,000 raised for victims of the Victorian bushfires in 2009. Funds were donated to VicRelief Foodbank that delivers a daily breakfast program at 18 schools in bushfire affected areas.

 

BOXING DAY TSUNAMI:

$200,000 raised for the victims of the 2004 tsunami which was donated to CARE Australia’s relief efforts.
