Stand Up brings innovative and interactive educational sessions to most of the Jewish day schools in Australia, complementing students’ studies in politics, economics, geography, ethics, Jewish values, and global citizenship.
We run full term and short programs, day workshops and excursions. For enquiries please contact Gary Samowitz
As each school, year-level and curricular need is unique, we accommodate a range of educational sessions. We also work with schools to design and develop their own programs.
“As the Community Service coordinator at Mount Scopus Memorial College, I have had the privilege of working very closely with the Stand Up team. They facilitate a number of meaningful events for our students including a day focused on ethical living for Year 7, meetings and excursions with refugees in Year 8/9, and a trip to Yorta Yorta country for the year 9s that is part of the Aboriginal Studies elective. In the projects we have worked on together, I have found their dynamic staff to be vibrant and creative. Their idealism and enthusiasm makes them excellent role models for our students who wish to put the Jewish ideals of Social Justice into practice.”
– Ittay Flescher, Community Service and Achshav Coordinator, Mount Scopus Memorial College
Pushing students to think critically about the most important global issues of our time challenges them to become leaders – in thought and action. And as empowerment runs through our core, by providing students with tangible ways to move from theory to practice, we spark individual actions that contribute to positive social change.
We hope you make the most of our services and join us in instilling Jewish values of service and social justice to Jewish youth.
